10 films to look out for at the 45th International Film Festival Rotterdam

Ten titles that will be screened during the twelve days of worldwide independent, innovative and experimental cinema at the IFFR, recommended by CineCola.

The 45th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) will be taking place in the Netherlands from the 327th of January to the 87th of February, 2016.

The festival is now regarded as one of the main international film festivals in the world, as well as one of the first most important film events of the year. During its 45 year-long lifespan, it has gained notoriety as one of the most innovative ones, with a keen eye for arthouse films defining elements, whether they be challenging, experimental or consisting of original traits. The selection usually regularly features films of a more challenging nature than ones in other major film festivals, and its mission in looking after the future of this beloved artform is further demonstrated by the fact that its main prize, the Hivos Tiger Award, is dedicated to feature films directed by filmmakers in their first or second feature directorial outing.

CineCola is usually a regular of the event, but will not be attending this year. It is still a pleasure for us to cast a spotlight on this year's riveting selection in this feature, that handpicks ten films that will be screened during the festival, but were already previously viewed by us on previous occasions.
