"While attempting to reconcile a lounge singer with his mistress, a hapless talent agent finds himself on the run from the mob with her after he is mistaken for her lover by her jealous boyfriend.

BROADWAY DANNY ROSE features one of the funniest screenplays of any WOODY ALLEN film from the eighties. It also banks in on the nostalgia of fifties show business, not only through the well shaped titular character and his array of unusual and colourful vaudevillian artists, but also through the loving touch provided by the black and white photography, which is also another specimen of the great collaboration between GORDON WILLIS and the director.

ALLEN also co-stars with MIA FARROW, the first fitting the boots of the titular man with his usual entertaining personality, and the latter showing off her comedic side at her best with her gum chewing Brooklyn accent. They team up in what feels like an updated and fresh version of old screwball comedy team ups from classic American cinema, and their chemistry adds an entertaining element to the film."
