How did you come up with the single take concept used in the film? - "One of the inspirations for it came from the works of Escher, because he gives perspective a magical touch [...]"

Was it very difficult? - "[...] It turned into a theatrical type of performance. The actors rehearsed lines in Tehran, then we got to the location where they practiced twice every day for a month [...]"

Filmmaker Shahram Mokri talks to FRED about his remarkable feature FISH AND CAT (Mahi va gorbeh), winner of the Special Orizzonti Award for Innovative Content and presented at the 43rd International Film Festival Rotterdam.

A group of young people camp by a lake and some woods. There’s a restaurant in the village, but how does the owner get his ingredients? This exceptional, Iranian horror was shot in a single take. Not the action, but the suggestion creates the suspense.
