Matt Micucci: What was your reaction when the script 'landed' your way?

Anais Demoustier: I was very much surprised and excited by the whole project and I immediately realised that it was a unique role, the kind you are not offered very often as an actor. Pascal didn't tell me anything specifically about the role nor the changes she undergoes, and when I read the script it was like reading a novel [...]

 

Matt Micucci: Was there anything you had to do to prepare for your role?

Anais Demoustier: I had to attend a chambermaid stage for a week. That was Pascale's idea, which I didn't particularly share in the beginning but it was very important for me to understand the loneliness of the chambermaid, which is really something you don't experience with any other occupation and also the way in which by opening the doors to the hotel rooms you literally step into someone else's life [...]

 

Matt Micucci: How much have you got in common with the character?

Anais Demoustier: Possibly the loneliness of this young woman. We all live in a connected world, but especially in my line of work where I am expected to bond with people all the time, it's hard to have a good quality connection with another human being. [...]
