"A natural gas salesman is sent by his company to seal the deal and get the local land owners to sign over drilling rights to their lands, but things get complicated after a local school teachers introduces them to the dangers of fracking and after the arrival of a young environmental activist. Despite it being the right time for a film of this time to get released, Promised Land is a disappointingly weak and conventional melodrama with its environmentally friendly message coming across as preachy at best."
