ADAM & PAUL (2004) - ♦♦♦♦

"Adam & Paul follows a day in the life of two Dublin heroin addicts. Despite the fact that the film lacks a narrative, it is a great representation of the marginalised and somewhat self-desctructive decadence classes of the urban irish setting.

The pivotal titular duo of Adam and Paul recalls a hopelessly vulnerable and not necessarily likeable redux of Laurel and Hardy, while their ordinary life events play with the tragic and yet casual succession of deadpan comedy.

Abrahamson’s film is an honest look at humanity and also an examination of its difficult certain socio political situation by using a black comedy approach that conceals a certain worrying backdrops even in the moments that more directly address its deadpan comedy vibes."
