"Tarantino broadens his filmography’s horizon by taking on, in his own way, the war genre, and telling the tales of a gang of Jewish soldiers who engage in targeted acts of retributions against the Nazis. Inspired by his beloved war B-movies and by a certain arrogance that allows him not only to re-invent the war genre but also re-interpret the war genre, Tarantino and his Inglorious Basterds are riotous, fun and exciting. The characters are iconic, and the stylised violence is balanced by tasteful lengthy wordy exchanges that build up a remarkable tension. Though it may be a little too long, its ending is certainly rewarding."
