"An escaped convict tries to hide in her former lover’s house who is far from keen on the idea, as she has married since. This drama could also be described as a British working class noir; by taking the story to the everyday people, it becomes edgier and grittier. It Always Rains on Sunday is an early work of the famed Ealing Studios which shows how modern their viewpoints were from early on in their lifespan. This film has a great emotional depth and occasional tongue in cheek humour which makes it admirable and entertaining."
