21/09/2016 - EFP to showcase European cinema at 2016 Busan Film Fest

The European Film Promotion continues its activities to help promote European film talents all over the world with Opening Doors at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.

The 19th edition of Opening Doors, a program designed to highlight the works of European films and talents, will be presented at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea. The festival takes place on October 6-15. 

 

The program was initiated 19 years ago by the European Film Promotion (EFP), the international organization that aims to promote European films and talents. Since then, Opening Doors has greatly contributed to BIFF's focus on European cinema, which in turn brought an ever increasing presence of European talent and sales in Korea. 

 

The following films will be presented in Busan as part of Opening Doors: The Saint by Andrius Blaževičius (Lithuania/Poland); Fraulein: A Winter Tale by Caterina Carone (Italy); Starfish by Bill Clark (UK); The Oath by Baltasar Kormákur (Iceland); Heartstone by Gudmundur Arnar Gudmundsson (Denmark, Iceland); The Ornithologist by João Pedro Rodrigues (Portugal); A Pig's Tale by Tony Loeser (Germany); The Idea of a Lake (Switzerland, Argentina, Qatar); Heart of Stone by Johannes Naber (Germany); Aloys by Tobias Nolle (Switzerland, France); Amerika Square by Yannis Sakaridis (Greece, UK, Germany); Gerontophobia by Boris Sverlow (Belgium); The Reconquest by Jonas Trueba (Spain); United States of Love by Tomasz Wasilewski (Poland, Sweden); Night of 1000 Hours by Virgil Widrich (Austria, Luxembourg, The Netherlands).
