"A biopic on the life of Navy SEAL, a decorated sniper and follows his journey from rodeo cowboy to SEAL chief with the deadliest track record of any American sniper in history.

Clint Eastwood’s film is an undoubtedly uncomfortable biopic about a very polarising character. The widely non-judgemental, if slightly sympathetic portrayal delivered by Clint Eastwood in this film makes the overall film polarasing as well, and inevitably stirs an ethical reaction within the viewer, which proves that the film is indeed powerful.

On top of that, American Sniper widely focuses on delivering an authentic type of tension, without disguising a representation of the human side of the man’s story, to the point where to the prejudiced war movie crowd it may come across as slightly clichéd.

The film also enjoys a great and tastefully restrained and introverted leading performance by Bradley Cooper, rarely seen as focused before in a strictly dramatic role, and this adds credibility to a forceful portrayal to the controversial figure of modern war heroes."
