14/4/2016 - Cannes 2016 official selection announced

New films by Jim Jarmusch, Xavier Dolan and Nicolas Winding Refn among titles features in the Official Competition.

An elite line-up of films by established directors headlines this year's competition of the Cannes Film Festival. Included in the list are the new films by Jim Jarmusch, Jeff Nichols, Paul Verhoven and Xavier Dolan. The festival's opening film will be Woody Allen's latest "Café Society," screened out of competition. The jury will be presided by filmmaker George Miller.
 
Un Certain Regard, Out of Competition titles and Midnight Screenings also announced. The poster of this year's edition is a still from Jean-Luc Godard's film "Contempt (Le Mepris)."
