With ANOTHER TRIP TO THE MOON, ISMAIL BASBETH aims and succeeds in creating a type of cinematic language that is universal. This is achieved through a lack of dialogue and more physical acting, that often flirts with surrealism, and a clear and metaphorical mixture of the Western and Eastern culture through various elements such as the matinee like costumes, the setting of the forest in which most of the film takes place, influences from fairytales, legends and myths and so on. 

The camerawork is theatrical and static, yet the mise en scene is spectacular and despite a lack of dialogue, this is far from being a silent film as the close attention it pays to sound and vision make the viewing experience sense enhancing."
