"Sam Raimi uses the bigger budget to full effect and the film loses its amateurish outlook, however he doesn't let the money get in the way of his creativity. Evil Dead II can perhaps be considered as the most well balanced example of a horror slapstick, genuinely scary and filled with suspense but also entertainingly funny with cheesy one liners and exaggeratedly gory special effects. This film also arguably gave Bruce Campbell the cult status he enjoys today."
