THE BRIDGE (2006) - ♦♦♦

Directed by - Eric Steel

"THE BRIDGE by ERIC STEEL is a documentary about the many suicides that happen every year on the Golden Gate Bridge.

It is an original subject for an examination on the very delicate theme of suicide, but feels rather inconclusive due to its confused approach. Furthermore, some might even see it as exploitational, not so much because of the disturbing and shock value enhancing real footage of many suicides that the film uses, but rather because the choice to tie them together with interviews with their friends and relatives don't mix very well.

The idea might have been noble, but its execution is sometimes awkward, so while it remains an interesting feature, it is perhaps not as powerful as it could have opted to be and attracts far more attention upon itself than it raises awareness on suicide."
