Abrahams returns to helm the follow up to his 2009 work, delivering an action packed and very entertaining film that continues not to respect the legacy of the original Star Trek. While Star Trek into Darkness certainly plays it safe and doesn't dare as much as its predecessor, it is still exciting, unravels at a nice pace with great visual effects and is overall quite a solid piece of science fiction filmmaking."
