"Two fallen angels plan to outsmart their way back into Heaven by outsmarting God, an act that would end all humanity. It is up to an abortion clinic employee, a despondent and very unlilely direct relative of Jesus Christ, to save the day.

KEVIN SMITH has always poked fun at the concept of religion, and in DOGMA he translates his modern phylosophical slang to the big screen in a story that still possibly remains his most ambitious. Not least of all because of its mixture of caracteristic urban humour with fantasy elements, used not without excess but still admirably well informed despite their caricatural exaggerations.

DOGMA, like all the films by SMITHS, is very wordy, and this adds awkwardness to the complexity of the story, sometimes even making it unnecessarily confusing. What is perhaps most surprising about the film is that despite stirring up a fair share of predictable controversy, it is not nearly as offensive as one would expect.

DOGMA also features a star studded cast, with BEN AFFLECK and MATT DAMON playing the roles of the fallen angels, heading a list of names including LINDA FIORENTINO, ALAN RICKMAN, SALMA HAYEK, JASON LEE and they all seem to genuinely enjoy their roles which adds to the fun."
