It is also incredibly cool, and its energy seems to be full of a genuine and creative spontaneity that develops into a fully formed plot. 

In Band of Outsiders, as he did in Breathless, Godard pays tribute to the Monogram crime thrillers, but extends the boundaries of the conventional plots of those films with plenty of intelligence and creative moments that go from highly philosophical rants to silly variety entertainment."
