Starring - James Dean, Natalie Wood, Sal Mineo

"Rebel Without a Cause still stands out as the ultimate Americn teenage angst film, not least of all because of the casting of James Dean, starrinng here in the movie that consacrated him a legend and an icon. The story focuses on a new kid in school and in a new town, an alienated teenage anti-hero, outcast and looking for his true identity. This film brings glamour and heavy sexualised undertones without slipping into tasteless exploitation, but also a psychologic depth, intense character study and intelligent structures where a lot of subplots can be read between the lines. Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo, for instance, are memorable in a film that is still one of the most effective of the genre, and along with Dean create a much discussed about surrogate family or soft spoken romantic triangle."
