"The fourth instalment loses is only intriguing at best, though ultimately as stylistic mess and simply too confusing a times to follow. This is probably due to studio pressures that needed new episodes to the series every year. This one follows the legacy of Jigsaw and its beginning, but it’s really just a succession of disturbing and gory images that don’t quite add up to a worthwhile plot."
