"Silent drama directed by William Wyler about an unhappy boxer who is better at losing matched on purpose than winning them whose life is changed when he takes into his house an orphan child. A heart warming drama, though the scenario may be all too obvious and the slow paced action making it seem all the more predictable. However, this is no less than evidence of the fact that American cinema has been using the same winning formulas since the early days."
