Ennio Morricone wins EFA Award

Legendary Ennio Morricone was announced as the first of six winners of this year's 26th European Film Awards. The Italian composed will be honored by the EFA for his work on Giuseppe Tornatore's film The Best Offer.
 
On The Best Offer, he once again teamed up with filmmaker Tornatore, for whom he had written one of his best known and most celebrated scores in  Cinema Paradiso . Morricone also famously composed the scores of numerous other films and first garnered publicity with his music for the Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns, such as Fistful of Dollars and The Good the Bad and the Ugly.
 
Easlier in the year, Morricone also recently received the Volta Award from the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, an award given to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the world of film.
