17/02/2016 Michael Moore forced to cancel trip to Berlinale 2016

Michael Moore's latest documentary "Where to Invade Next" is screening at the Berlin International Festival.

Director Michael Moore had to cancel his trip to the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, where his latest film Where to Invade Next is currently screening as a Special Gala. The 61-year-old director had to cancel due to his recent hospitalization with pneumonia.

A quick press release sent out to film journalists attending the festival expressed Moore's gratitude for the German people who figure so prominently in his movie, as well as his fans for their ongoing support of the project.

Michael Moore had previously attended the Berlin International Film Festival in 1990, where he presened his first feature documentary Roger & Me, in which he pursued GM CEO Roger Smith to confront him about the harm he did to Flint, Michigan with his massive downsizing.

In Where to Invade Next, Michael Moore playfully invades other nations to learn what the USA can learn from other countries.

The film has its opening Berlinale screening tonight at 21.00, and will have a further four screening afterwards, between the 18th and the closing date of the festival on the 21st of February.
