"A mob boss who is having anxiety attacks seeks help from a shrink, who is getting ready for his second marriage. 

Analyze This has a witty premise that was apparently completely distorted out of an initial pitch that would go on to become the hit series The Sopranos, which would premiere on the same year and go on to become one of the most critically acclaimed TV series of all time. Despite this, Analyze This manages to become almost unbearably formulaic and wastes almost all its chances at originality. 

In the end, De Niro's turn as the mob boss might even be his most funny performance of all time - which considering most of his other straight up comedies is no great feat. But the film as a whole is pretty unrewarding."
