"Early Italian Epic about a girl, separated from her parents during the Rome vs. Carthage war saved by a Roman patrician and his slave, Maciste. The film is based on a book by controversial historical figure Gabriele D’Annunzio. However, it is the narrative in the film that is hard to follow and lacks impact. Some aspects of the production are monumental, particularly its expansive and majestic sets, that particularly show off in value in the sequences involving the Moloch temple."
