"STEVE MCQUEEN played Hollywood tycoon in producing the film Le Mans. Inspired by MCQUEEN's own well documented love of motor car racing, LE MANS sought to be as faithful a representation of a Le Mans race as they come, through minimal dramatic elements and meticulous attention to detail. 

The production was famously tumultuous, and the end result can almost be considered more a spectacular documentary than a fictional film. It must be hence said that this film is not for those without any type of interest in its pivotal subject. 

On the other hand, LE MANS can obviously be enjoyed for its passion and genuinene representation of the thrill of the chase, and over the years it has rightfully picked up a considerable cult status among fans of the sport."
