"Three former Italian partisans and great friends who experienced fall outs and intertwined love affairs, meet up years later to catch up on their lives. One of the best Italian films of the seventies. A great tale of friendships lost, reflections on society and the divisions of social classes with great character studies, their philosophies on life and their stories of regret. The photography, which shifts from black and white to colour as time moves on, is wonderful, and while there is nothing particularly funny about the story, comedy seems to flow through it quite naturally, and makes this film an even more delightful watch."
