"The majestic return of the creature feature. A mining spaceship investigates a suspicious SOS and lands on a distant planet where they discover some strage creatures.

The spaceship Nostromo becomes a cell where a succession of horrific nightmarish visuals, greatly influential special effects and claustrophobia walk hand in hand at an intense pace as one by one its passengers start dying.

Alien was a film that brought legitimate terror into space after years of laughable shlocks. It also brought credibility, with its ordinary human characters which made them seem fragile and scared when faced which such mysterious dangers.

Sigourney Weaver in her leading role as Ripley became the new face of a new generation and brand of cinematic heroines, while the film continues to inspire not only sequels and other rip off franchises but a revisitations by director Ridley Scott himself decades later."
