As a starting point, he uses a traumatic event he experiences early in his life, a car crash, of which he uses news photos. 

VANISHING POINT deep and personal approach is also served on a universal platter, and his opening up and exploration of his human themes with a slow and unrushed cinematography, which leaves grey areas in its plot, allows for a more active interaction with its viewers.
