"A look on the life of celebrated Italian theatre and cinema actress Piera degli Esposti. Marcias’ film aims to look at all aspects of her life and get a feel of its essence. 

However, with About Piera he seems far more concerned with the shape and form of his work rather than really understanding the nature of her subject, which makes the experience rather disappointing particularly if viewed by an international audience.

Some elements are quite interesting, most notably her relationship with Italian director Marco Ferreri. Nevertheless, it is all too formulaic and self-indulgent to carry any proper significance."
