"An Italian produced pirate adventure based on a series of popular Italian adventure novels by Emilio Salgari about a Count taking up piracy to get revenge on the man who killed his father ten years previous. 

The Black Corsaire has some potential, mostly due to the richness of the narrative of the original material upon which it is based. However, it mostly crumbles under clumsy direction and an overall second rate production. It has a cheesy cartoonish feel to it, and occasionally even feels like some type of epic soap opera. But as far as maturity goes, there is none to be found here."
