"A group of friends allow themselves to be charmed by a self righteous pathological liar.

POISON FRIENDS is a tastefully restrained and brilliantly written film by EMMANUEL BORDIEU. Much to its credit, it plays with the audience by having a radical antihero as its central subject, who seems to have a psychopathological penchant for playing with the lives of the people around him.

The snappy dialogue and passionate intelligence in dealing with literary references seems to point at a cult of youthful intellectualism, whilst simoultaneously poking fun at it. Occasionally, the film suffers from dead moments. However, it is only fair to also point out its openly suspenseful ways at referring to its themes of psychological manipulation."
