"WOMEN BEHIND THE CAMERA is a film about the camerawoman - about the inequality of the film industry but more directly addressing women who work as cinematographers or behind the camera and the discrimination that they constantly have to fight through in order to be treated on the same level as their male peers. 

Director ALEXIS KRASILOVSKY is very focused on getting her point across in a matter of fact way, mostly through interviews and archive footage, opting hence for a message over beauty type of approach. The nature of the film doesn't necessarily make it one that will make it accessible to a wide audience, but still offers any newcomer the opportunity to understand more about an insider issue that often remains widely unexplored."
