"Considering the success of its predecessor, Airplane II: The Sequel could scarcely ever have exceeded expectations. And indeed, it doesn't, but what is far worse is that, beginning with the title, for the most part it doesn't even seem to try.

This film is obviously far too openly keen in copying almost every aspect of the first movie, with the slight difference being that this time the action takes place on a space shuttle. And despite the few laughs it succeeds in getting, there is far too little to prevent this film from feeling underwhelming to the point of occasionally seeming irritating.
