"The story of a man stuck in the JFK airport due to bureaucratic circumstances is only remotely inspired by a true story. It’s a little annoying that The Terminal would require us to really suspend our beliefs with its melodramatic implausibilities. Melodrama is in fact the key to this film that for all its charm and its interesting aspect always bends the truth of a familiar often nightmarish setting to the point when the average viewer will feel lied to. There is also no chemistry between Hanks and Zeta-Jones, which makes the romantic implications dull. Probably still not the worse film Spielberg ever made, but while some people will eat it up, it takes a lot to truly like a film as ficticious and naïve as The Terminal."
