"A dwarf inherits a small abandoned station in New Jersey. There, he meets and befriends a young Mexican male with and ill father and a recently separated women whose son died in a tragic accident. A touching and clever deadpan comedy overflowing with humanity, makes use of many simple yet original elements. Tastefully, this film remains an interesting story yet doesn’t really stick to a defined structure, and that is what makes The Station Agent so rewarding in bringing its story to life and in portraying the theme of the fact that everyone has a right to be depressed but also a duty to shake themselves off it in any way they can."
