BICENTENNIAL MAN (1999) - ♦♦
Directed by - Chris Columbus
Written by - Nicholas Kazan (based on the novel The Bicentennial Man by Isaac Asimov and The Positronic Man by Isaac Isamov and Robert Silverberg)
Starring - Robin Williams
"The story of a robot with a technical flaw - an ability to experience and understand human emotions. In Bicentennial Man, we follow his struggles as he tries to become fully human and recognised as a human being by society.
Chris Columbus fails in the challenge of what could have been a good premise had it given more importance to its more universally relevant message of social acceptance and tolerance. As it happens, the film wastes such a opportunity and is content with being a science fiction comedy drama. It relies mostly on Robin Williams' charm to connect with its audience and almost gets away with it."
