"The story this film tells is very interesting; set in Berlin before and after the Berlin wall, a son must keep the shock of the fall of the wall from his mother, a Socialist enthusiast, as he fears it might put her health in danger after she wakes up from her heart-related-coma. After a while, hiding it from her just gets harder, and eventually, he comes up with this vision of a perfect Germany. The originality of the plot is what drives the film, the visuals let it down a little. However, it’s fresh, new and irresistible, and well represents the modern style that saw German cinema dictate rules in the European landscape of the first decade of the 21st century."
