THE WEDDING MARCH (1928) - ♦♦♦♦♦

Directed by - Erich Von Stroheim

Written by - Harry Carr, Erich von Stroheim

Starring - Erich von Stroheim, Fay Wray

"The prince of Austria, who is encountering money trouble from gambling and women, is advised by his parents to marry a wealthy woman for money. But as they look for a suited candidate, he falls for a poor girl at the Corpus Christi march.

Another von Strotheim masterpiece, with his poetic approach in portraying dark situations, with a masterly use of photography, and a succession of plot developments that will leave its audience more than satisfied. His style is very evident in this picture, as he is not afraid in the slightest to dig up all the dirt, greed and even sexual perversion of the Austrian class of noblemen.

The sad fact that there is another part to this film, a second part that is seemingly lost, does not affect the quality of The Wedding March but is still a sad fact that should be noted."
