"Romanian filmmaker ANDREI GHEORGHE takes us to the port of Costanta, where a girl moves to stay close of her professional fencer boyfriend. His determination to keep her at a distance as he trains for the Olympics leads her into the arms of another man, an equally ambitious fence heartbroken due to an injury keeping him on the sidelines. 

The outcome of IT TAKES TWO TO FENCE is quite predictable, but its purposeful use of amateurish equipment, which adds texture and immediacy to the camerawork, is admirable and inspiring. In the end, its is also quite a faithful examination of relationships, particularly in its relation with ambition, and the resulting conflict of fulfillment. 

Perhaps the film's essentially slow pace will test the average viewer's patience, and in all honesty the film suffers from many moments of dullness that feel like fillers within an already defined storyline."
