26/2/2015 - Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2015 programme unveiled

The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival officially launched its 2015 programme yesterday. This year the festival invites audiences to cross the globe in its eleven day duration with films from 38 countries.
 
Opening the festival is Mary McGuckian's beautiful depiction of Irish designer Eileen Gray, The Price of Desire, and the closing film will be the classic musical The Sound of Music in a special screening that will be attended by the star of the film herself, Julie Andrews.
 
Among other guests of honour at this year's JDIFF will be Kenneth Branagh, who is presenting his rendition of the classic fairitale Cinderella. Alan Rickman will showcase his picturesque period film A Little Chaos and Russell Crowe will be presenting his feature directorial debut The Water Diviner
 
Hollywood actor Ryan O'Neal will be celebrated with a screening Barry Lyndon, a screening that also marks the 40th anniversary of the great film by Stanley Kubrick, and of the screwball comedy What's Up Doc?, co starring Barbra Streisand, that will be followed by a conversation with the actor hosted by festival director Gràinne Humphreys.
 
Festival director Grainne Humphreys announced: "This festival belongs to our audiences who come in such great numbers, we have expanded the programme to accommodate new venues and screenings, each year we relish the challenge to excite, educate and entertain the best cinema audiences in the world”
