"Provocative and fearless. LARRY CHARLES' RELIGULOUS is really BILL MAHER's RELIGULOUS. Here, the comedian and TV host takes on one of his pet subjects - the one of religion, and of course he does so by influencing it with his strong stance as a convinced atheist. 

The documentary, which to many will rightly seem a lot like atheist propaganda, is funny and exciting also because it focuses on the bizarre eccentricities characters of the religious communities. These eccentricities, in turn, are mocked and ridiculed, but make the film fun and controversial in its eccentricity. 

Despite this, the average neutral viewer will predictably find little ethical fulfuilment out of it because indeed, the film never stops being BILL MAHER's show."
