BURIED an ambitious horror thriller by RODRIGO CORTES. A frantic fight against time which is intensified by its element of extreme claustrophobia. The film, in fact, almost entirely takes place inside the coffin, with RYAN REYNOLDS' loneliness and hopelessness enhanced by his dominating of the on screen action in a one man show type of affair. Thus, it is as thrilling as it is downright uneasy to watch - an exciting experimentation that only occasionally suffers from dull moments, almost inevitable given its restrictive structure. 

Nevertheless, BURIED certainly manages to squeeze a lot of drama and psychological intensity in its restricted space. An invigorating work by EDUARD GRAY on cinematography conveys its minimalistic Hitchcockian vibes. While even outside the coffin, the setting of the war in Iraq provides a further haunting backdrop."
