"Beowulf is the story of the titular warrior in a Viking land who must protect his town from a mythical monster named Gudrun and his mother. This Robert Zemeckis film has a narrative that feels very basic, cold and distant. 

This might also be because of its strong focus on the visuals. Its cast members were in fact filmed on a motion picture capture stage. The result is some type of live action animation visuals that seem to come close to videogame graphics. This means that essentially, Beowulf is spectacular, but a clear case of style over substance."
