Back Door to Heaven is a somewhat forgotten old fashioned melodrama with blends of the crime movie genre. Suited to the tastes of the time, despite the second rate screenplay and a lack of maturity in the pacing, the most disappointing aspect of the story remains a trading in of a more genuined representation of a delicate aspect of social realism for a more cinematic and artificial style of melodrama that further distances it from being as impressive as it could have been."
