"THE BRAVADOS marks another collaboration between HENRY KING and one of his usual leading stars, GREGORY PECK.

Its story follows a man, looking for revenge on the men he believes raped and killed his wife, and ends up being on their trail after they kidnapped another girl.

A solid and entertaining Western with some notable dark elements and a great use of the theme of vengeance, although sometimes it stumbles upon preachy grounds when it begins to be overtaken by the theme of religion.

Still, the pacing makes it rather enjoyable, and PECK's antagonist evil enough to want to see them burn in hell. On top of this, THE BRAVADOS is full of great shots of the Mexican locations in which it was shot, that give it an added visual bonus and provide a great and spectacular backdrop to it, on top of an appropriately 'bravado' filled soundtrack signed by Alfred Newman."
