NEW YORK, NEW YORK (1977) - ♦♦♦

Directed by - Martin Scorsese

Written by - Earl Mac Rauch, Mardik Martin

Starring - Liza Minnelli, Robert DeNiro

"The rocky romance between a young singer and an egotistical sax player, who meet on VJ Day. In spite of it being both a modernisation and a tribute to classic Hollywood musicals with good intentions, and the good performances by De Niro and Minnelli, New York, New York never quite seems to come together and is unaided by an overall uneven script. Perhaps its biggest fault, however, is that it weakens in comparison to other greater works by Scorsese."
