8/3/2016 - Carmen Maura to attend 2016 Febiofest

Other guests that will attend the 23rd Prague International Film Festival include Peter Mullan, Marco Bellocchio and Daniel Bruhl.

Carmen Maura, one of the most prominent women of Spanish cinema, will be attending the 23rd FebioFest Prague International Film Festival, which runs March 17-25. She will be the main subject of one of the festival's retrospectives. 

 

The Madrid-born actress has starred in nearly 100 roles between film and telecision, and was the lead actress at the National Theatre in madrid. She has also often starred in Pedro Almodovar's films, who considers her as a muse. Among the highlights of their collaboration are 1987's Law of Desire, 1988's Oscar nominated Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and 2006's Volver for which she was awarded the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival along with the other actresses in the cast ensemble. 

 

Maura will join other prestigious guests at this year's Febiofest, that include actor and Golden Lion winning director Peter Mullan, Italian film legend Marco Bellocchio presenting his latest film Blood of My Blood, and actor Daniel Bruhl. 

 

This year FebioFest will welcome over 50 international guests, most of whom will be presenting films in the program.
