AS GOOD AS IT GETS (1997) - ♦♦♦♦

Written by - Mark Andrus, James L. Brooks

Starring - Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt, Greg Kinnear

"As Good As It Gets follows the slow and yet gradual awakening of a disagreeable man with obsessive compulsive disorders to the realisation of the importance of other people inhis life. This awakening is especially inspired by a waitress, the only one he orders food from, whose no show at work leads him to get closer to.

A meeting between broken souls searching for redemption, As Good As It Gets by James L. Brooks, who also co-write the screenplay with Mark Andrus, overflows with genuine humanity and excellently balanced drama and humour.

It is particularly admirable how he allows his characters air to develop in a most careful way, and this evolution process is particularly punctuated by Jack Nicholson's excellent leading performance in yet another standout role in his great filmography. Helen Hunt as his female counterpart is equally as admirable, delivering a powerful performance as the strong willed and determined mother with a heart of gold."
