"A great white shark haunts the waters of a small island community. Jaws is a landmark film both in the horror film genre and cinema in general. One of Spielberg’s first feature films revealed to be a very skilful and talented director, and despite budget restrictions, Jaws set up an original kind of tension which tastefully defied the cheap and cheesy conventionalities of most creature features that had been released before it, also thanks to a great memorable score by John Williams. It also played a key role in changing the landscape of cinema and the way in which films were produced and advertised, as Jaws is often cited as the first true blockbuster."
