"It’s strange that Lee should have found appealing the idea of working with such a standard subject matter as a bank robbery movie; he introduces the film well, but the film quickly loses points on the interest level, as well as the subplot involving Jodie Foster feeling like a movie within a movie. It’s more interesting than the standard bank robbery film, but not too much."
